Can I Use My Overhead Racks with Your Folding Tonneau Covers?

Many of the construction companies and contractors, who contact us, want to know whether or not the mounting system used in our folding tonneau covers will allow the use of the stake holes in the sides of their truck beds. When you rely on an overhead rack to transport materials to the jobsite, the last thing you need is anything, including your tonneau cover that blocks the stake holes you need.

Our folding tonneau covers make use of an internal mounting system that is attached to the inside edges of your truck bed using a series of clamps. There are no screws used, no holes to drill and the stake holes in the top rail of your bed are left wide open so that you can use them for your overhead rack or for stakes when you are carrying lumber.

How Do Hard Tonneau Covers Stand Up in the Cold?

It is a well-known fact that soft vinyl tonneau covers do not do well when the temperatures drop below freezing. Not only are they difficult to open and even more difficult to close, the material can become so brittle as the temperature drops that it cracks and splits. What about hard tonneau covers, how well do they stand up to extremes in cold weather?

At Bak Liner we build our hard tonneau covers from materials such as TPO and aircraft grade aluminum to ensure that they never fall apart in the cold. Then we use specially designed hardware and seals to ensure that no matter how cold or how much snow and ice you encounter, they are always easy to open and close.  In answer to the question, our tonneau covers stand up perfectly no matter how cold the weather happens to get.

Not all Tonneau Covers are Made the Same

When it comes to tonneau covers, you need to spend time looking closely at the different brands on the market as you are going to find that not all tonneau covers are made to the same high standards of quality. It can be tempting to try and save money by purchasing a cheaper cover; the only problem with this is that you are going to get what you pay for.

Many of the cheaper tonneau covers are made from plastic if they are hard covers or of course vinyl for soft covers. Neither of these materials is going to last long, nor are they going to take much in the way of abuse.  The worst part is that while these covers may look great when you first buy them, but after just a few months they end up looking like they are several years old.

At Bak Liner all of our tonneau covers are made from the finest materials available to ensure that not only do they last for many years, they stay looking good.
